Steel Thread Software, Inc. in Virginia is seeking a Senior System Administrator to join a fast-paced software development team. You will lead DevOps efforts, collaborate with engineers and clients, and optimize CICM infrastructure to scale deployments for web-based applications.

The ideal candidate has recent DevOps leadership experience, strong communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset. The role emphasizes on-site work with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bash, Perl, Python, Ruby, Shell scripting proficiency.
• Linux system administration experience (Red Hat/CentOS/Ubuntu).
• Experience with Puppet, Ansible, Chef or similar CM tools.
• Ability to work with agile development teams (Scrum/Kanban).
• Proven leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead DevOps efforts and manage the DevOps team.
• Collaborate with engineers and clients to develop and implement end-user solutions.
• Understand development tools with CICM infrastructure to optimize and scale."
• Lead efforts to improve processes, solutions, and configuration management.
• Support application administration for development, UAT and production systems.
• Provision virtual machines using cloud management solutions (VMware, vCenter, OpenStack, Red Hat).
• Monitor internal and production hosts using Nagios, Cacti, and other monitoring systems.
• Troubleshoot production issues with developers and engineers.
• Perform network and operational tasks in internal/production systems.
• Script operational tasks for faster execution.
• Maintain evolve internal development and QA environments.
• Improve automated software deployment with Operations and Product Development teams.
• Maintain security infrastructure in internal and production environments.
