Job summary

Halogen Engineering Group is seeking a DevOps Engineer with 10+ years of experience in a Linux/GIT environment and current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. The role requires onsite work at Fort Meade, MD, with day shifts and no travel.

You will lead an Agile team, build release pipelines, manage configuration tools, and integrate Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS for scalable software deployments. The candidate must demonstrate strong scripting, automation, and cross-team collaboration,

Qualifications

• Fluent with Git requirements.
• Strong knowledge of Linux environments (RHEL 6/7/8, CentOS).
• Experience with Windows system administration, monitoring, and performance.
• 10+ years in an Agile dev environment (excluding basic education).
• Experience integrating Jenkins/Bamboo, Docker, and Kubernetes for automated deployment.
• Experience with caching technologies (Memcache, Redis).
• Experience with MySQL clusters/replication and Elasticsearch (Kibana).
• 10+ years of system architecture experience with AWS cloud and virtualization.
• Object-oriented programming in Ruby, C, C++, Go, Python, or Java.
• Ability to work with customers, developers, testers, PMs, and support staff.
• Strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the development life cycle of platform architecture, deployment and debugging.
• Build a release pipeline for fast, safe production deployments.
• Maintain CM systems (Git) with branching/merging strategies.
• Serve as technical lead for an Agile team and participate in ceremonies.
• Automate release deployments across dev, test, staging, and production.
• Set up new sites via Puppet and Ansible configuration management.
• Maintain/patch tracking and documentation in Confluence/Jira.
• Design and deploy web service infrastructure and deployments.
• Analyze service stack and propose improvements.
• Identify processes to streamline and automate.
• Communicate effectively across stakeholders and teams.
• Assist with support and operations as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of data.
