Job summary

OpenTalent is seeking a senior systems engineer for a federal contracting role requiring TS/SCI clearance. The position demands 10+ years in an Agile environment, strong Linux expertise (RHEL/CentOS), and experience integrating Jenkins/Bamboo with Docker and Kubernetes for automated deployment.

Candidates must be US citizens with a technical Bachelor's degree and proven ability to read code, troubleshoot, and work with cloud and PaaS environments such as AWS.

Qualifications

• US citizenship and active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• 10+ years in an Agile development environment (excludes education experience).
• Fluent with Git.
• Strong knowledge of Linux environments (RHEL 617/8, CentOS).
• Experience with Windows system administration, monitoring, instrumentation, resiliency and performance.
• Experience integrating Jenkins/Bamboo with Docker and Kubernetes for automated deployment.
• Experience with caching technologies (Memcache, Active MQ, Redis, APC).
• Experience with MySQL (Clusters, Replication, and Tuning) and Elasticsearch (Kibana a plus).
• 10+ years of system architecture with ability to read code and troubleshoot.
• 10+ years' experience managing AWS cloud and virtualized servers in a PaaS environment.
• Familiarity with SDLC models, agile, and DevOps methodologies.
• Fluent in object oriented programming with experience in Ruby, C, C++, Go, Python, or Java.
• Experience acquiring in-depth understanding of large complex software systems to isolate defects and deployments.
• Ability to work with customers, developers, testing, PM, and support staff.
• Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting.
• Clarity and precision in verbal and written communications.
