Job summary

Vatic in New York seeks an experienced DevOps Engineer to own the stability, reliability, and efficiency of our trading and research infrastructure. This role focuses on operations: keeping systems running, managing the GCP environment, and ensuring uninterrupted workflows.

You will bridge engineering, research, and systems teams, using Python/Bash for automation and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes clusters. We value operational excellence in a fast-paced financial setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in DevOps, platform operations, or SRE.
• Hands-on GCP experience with IAM, compute, networking, and cost management.
• Experience with Terraform (IaC) and Kubernetes cluster management.
• Strong Python/Bash scripting for automation and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operational health of our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment, including resource provisioning, IAM management, cost controls, and budget monitoring.
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts between engineering, research, and systems teams to keep production systems running smoothly.
• Monitor and maintain production trading and research systems with focus on reliability and uptime.
• Manage the research pipeline infrastructure on GCP, including job scheduling and resource allocation.
• Administer CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes clusters for reliable deployments.
• Oversee VM fleets with metrics collection, alerts, and log ingestion policies.
• Maintain high-performance database instances supporting data pipelines.
• Benchmark and tune critical services for optimal performance across internal systems and venues.
• Build and maintain operational tooling for monitoring, backup, deployment, and testing.
• Integrate existing solutions and best practices rather than building new systems from scratch.
