Job summary

Advanced Space is seeking a Sr. DevOps Engineer with 8–12 years of experience to design, build, and operate secure, scalable AWS infrastructure for mission-critical aerospace workloads.

You will develop CI/CD pipelines, manage Kubernetes (EKS), and strengthen security, identity, and compliance across multi-account environments. You will mentor engineers and help define platform roadmaps while collaborating with engineering teams to deliver self-service capabilities and secure-by-default

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of progressively responsible experience in DevOps, platform engineering, SRE, cloud infrastructure, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong hands-on experience designing and operating production workloads in AWS.
• Experience delivering infrastructure through Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or comparable IaC tools, with a preference for Terraform/CDK.
• Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Production experience with Kubernetes, including containerized workloads, networking, RBAC, resource management, deployment strategies, and troubleshooting (EKS, Docker, Helm preferred).
• Advanced AWS networking knowledge across VPCs, routing, security groups, DNS, load balancers, multi-account networking.
• Federated identity and access management (SAML/OIDC/OAuth 2.0, IAM, Okta/Keycloak/Authentik).
• Proficient in Python with automation, API integrations, and boto3; Bash Skills.
• Security practices: IAM, encryption, secrets, vulnerability management, compliance checks, auditable changes.
• Strong Linux and Git fundamentals; clear communication of decisions and risks.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate secure cloud infrastructure, using Terraform/AWS CDK/CloudFormation.
• Develop reliable CI/CD and Kubernetes platforms with GitLab CI/CD and EKS/ Helm.
• Design and maintain advanced cloud networking across multi-account environments including GovCloud where needed.
• Strengthen identity, security, and compliance through DevSecOps practices.
• Automate platform operations with Python, tooling, observability, and runbooks.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and drive platform roadmaps.
