Job summary

FullStack is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer (Databricks) to join our talent network and work with US clients on flexible, project-based engagements. You will collaborate daily with the client’s team, focusing on Databricks on AWS, CI/CD automation, and scalable data platform design.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in data/platform/devops, strong English, and a four-year degree. This is a 100% remote role with opportunities to work with startups and Fortune 500 companies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in Data/Platform or DevOps engineering.
• Advanced English required.
• Four-year college degree required.
• Extensive experience with Databricks on AWS in enterprise environments.
• Proven experience with Terraform and IaC for cloud automation.
• Hands-on Databricks job/cluster automation via REST and IaC.
• Strong CI/CD and GitHub Actions workflow design across repos.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data workflows.
• Solid knowledge of Apache Spark and distributed processing.
• Experience implementing code quality and security checks.

The Opportunity

Join our talent network and connect with U.S. clients for flexible, project-based development work as a Senior DevOps Engineer (Databricks).

• You will integrate directly into our client's team and work alongside their existing designers and engineers on a daily basis.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, or DevOps Engineering.
• Advanced English is required.
• Successful completion of a four-year college degree is required.
• Extensive experience administering and optimizing Databricks on AWS in enterprise environments.
• Proven experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code for cloud infrastructure automation.
• Hands-on experience automating Databricks jobs, clusters, and serving endpoints using REST APIs and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong experience designing and maintaining GitHub Actions workflows and reusable CI/CD frameworks across multiple repositories.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with a solid understanding of data engineering workflows.
• Strong understanding of Apache Spark and distributed data processing.
• Experience implementing automated code quality and security checks using tools such as SQLFluff, PyLint, and GitHub Actions.
• Proven experience establishing SDLC guardrails, branch protection, code ownership, approval workflows, deployment controls, and secure secret management.
• Hands-on experience managing Databricks Unity Catalog, including access controls and data lineage.
• Strong understanding of AWS IAM, Databricks RBAC, identity providers, and least-privilege access principles.
• Experience implementing monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability for cloud and data platforms.
• Experience designing scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient multi-environment data platform architectures.
• Familiarity with Snowflake and modern data engineering platforms is a plus.
• Ability to work through new and difficult issues and contribute to libraries as needed.
• Ability to create and maintain continuous integration and delivery of applications.
• Forensic attention to detail.
• A positive mindset and a can-do attitude.
• Experience working on Agile / Scrum teams.
• Meaningful experience working on large, complex systems.
