Senior DevOps Engineer (Arlington, VA)

Responsibilities
- Own and pride in performance, impacting company success in a fast‑paced environment supporting multiple software products and brands.
- Automate and leverage DevOps principles, aiming for operational excellence with an infrastructure‑as‑code mindset.
- Implement continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) using the latest DevOps tools and innovative methods.
- Work effectively in a team as an individual contributor, comfortable in a development and operations role.
- Communicate and collaborate with IT and business teams.
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized applications using Kubernetes and platforms such as EKS, AKS, GKE, or on‑prem Kubernetes.
- Support application deployments across cloud and on‑prem environments, ensuring high availability, scalability, and reliability.
- Diagnose and resolve infrastructure, deployment, and performance issues across distributed and microservices‑based systems.
- Apply critical thinking, problem‑solving, time‑management, and multitasking skills.
- Provide help to management, including hiring, onboarding, training, performance reviews, motivating team members, and reporting team performance.
Basic Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
- 5+ years managing heavy‑traffic web sites with a developer focus.
- Solid sizing and estimation for small‑to‑medium tasks and projects.
- Infrastructure‑as‑code experience (CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar).
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring tools (APM, system vitals, synthetics, RUM).
- Heavy scripting support (PowerShell, Bash, Ruby, Groovy).
- SQL or NoSQL database experience.
- Configuring CDN for performance caching and global traffic management.
- Familiarity with infrastructure foundation components of large networks in AWS and on‑prem (system & network administration, DNS, hypervisors, containers, databases, multi‑datacenters).
- Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and production orchestration.
- Experience with application deployment strategies (rolling, blue‑green, canary) and production troubleshooting in containerized environments.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Programming experience in Java, C#, Python, NodeJS.
- Server‑less architecture methodologies.
- Familiarity with PCI compliance and remediation.
- Mobile application support (iOS, Android).
- Experience in REST API or microservices development.
- Agile methodologies and short‑sprint cycles.
- Experience with Kubernetes observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Experience managing Kubernetes deployments using Helm or similar package management.
