Job summary

Fanatics is seeking a Senior Engineer, DevOps to join the Live & Collect Infrastructure team in Los Angeles. You’ll design, build, and operate the cloud foundation powering Fanatics’ Live & Collect platforms across AWS and GCP. This hands‑on role involves AI/ML tooling, mentoring, and driving DevOps maturity at scale.

You will own core services, implement IaC, optimize reliability and cost, and collaborate with product teams to support high‑traffic systems in a multi‑cloud environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cloud engineering or SRE with AWS and GCP.
• Strong IaC experience with Terraform and container orchestration.
• Hands-on DB admin with Cloud Spanner, AWS RDS, PostgreSQL.
• Experience with CI/CD and modern DevOps automation practices.
• Familiarity with AI/ML-powered tooling for infra/ops.
• Proficient in Python or Go for automation.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure across AWS and GCP using Terraform.
• Own core cloud services — Kubernetes, networking, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Evaluate and integrate AI-assisted tooling to improve infra efficiency.
• Partner with product and platform teams to architect cloud solutions for high‑traffic Live & Collect systems.
• Administer and tune managed/self-hosted databases, including performance tuning and backup/recovery.
• Drive reliability and cost‑efficiency initiatives across multi‑cloud environments.
• Champion DevOps best practices and observability standards across teams.
• Mentor engineers on cloud architecture, automation, and operational excellence.
• Participate in on‑call rotation to meet SLAs.
• Contribute to security hardening and disaster recovery planning.
