So, what’s the role?

Our DevOps engineers enable rapid development and deployment of new features, propelling the company's growth and success.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust infrastructure solutions to support our development, testing, and production environments. You will leverage your expertise in GitHub Workflows and Actions, Terraform IAC, and working knowledge of AWS to streamline our CI/CD processes and enhance our overall development workflow. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in automating CI/CD pipelines, with a focus on scalability, reliability, cost optimization, and security.

In your role, you will have the opportunity to work on complex engineering problems while collaborating with peers in DevOps, Dev, Security, Operations, SREs, Release, and other cross-functional teams.

A day in the life could include:

1. Spending time pairing primarily partnering with engineers from other functional teams, to discover automation opportunities and improve existing processes.
2. Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Workflows and Actions to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
3. Develop infrastructure as code (IAC) solutions using Terraform to provision and manage AWS resources.
4. Implement tools and automation to ensure changes continuously adhere to regulatory compliance.
5. Utilize your understanding of AWS services and work with peers to optimize infrastructure performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
6. Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps best practices into the software development lifecycle.
7. Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure high availability and performance of our systems.
8. Continuously improve automation and tooling to streamline deployment processes and increase efficiency.
9. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and improvement.

I’ve got the skills… but do I have the necessary ones?

1. 6+ years of experience in DevOps or related roles, with a strong focus on CI/CD automation and infrastructure management.
2. Proficiency in GitHub Workflows and Actions (or equivalent) for orchestrating CI/CD pipelines.
3. 2+ years with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IAC) development.
4. Working knowledge of AWS services with core skills on EC2, ECS, ECR, S3, RDS, IAM and nice to have skills on Redis, DMS, Redshift (equivalent), Glue, Lambda, Databricks.
5. Strong shell scripting skills, docker, and YAML.
6. Experience with automating release and change management processes.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
9. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and prioritize competing demands.
10. A fast learner, ready to bring previous knowledge to this position and continue developing along the way.

Bonus Points:

1. Familiarity with Spacelift.io for managing Terraform infrastructure.
2. Knowledge of PostgreSQL database administration and optimization.
