Job summary

Vosper Thornycroft Group is seeking a seasoned DevOps Engineer in Virginia (Herndon) to accelerate automation and big data analytics for the IC community. You will deploy AWS resources, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, and ensure secure, scalable infrastructures in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in DevOps or related fields, strong Linux and scripting skills, and experience with Kubernetes/EKS and cloud security practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of DevOps, front-end, or full-stack development experience.
• Proficient in Bash scripting.
• Hands-on AWS experience.
• Linux administration and systems design knowledge.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with security compliance and patching.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and manage AWS resources (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC).
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab and GitHub.
• Perform vulnerability scans and apply security updates.
• Design and maintain Kubernetes and EKS clusters.

Job description

Overview

The DevOps Engineer will leverage their technical background to help deliver automation and big data analytics for the IC community. You will be trained in DevOps and work alongside a collaborative team of Software Developers, Systems Development Engineers, Network Engineers, and Data Engineers to develop unique software that enables customer networks to safely operate at scale.

What will you do?

• Deploying and provisioning AWS resources including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM roles, and VPC configurations to support scalable architecture


• Building, maintaining, and troubleshooting continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes using GitLab and GitHub


• Running routine vulnerability scans, applying patches, and updating cloud and physical infrastructures to ensure security compliance


• Designing and maintaining Kubernetes and EKS clusters to ensure high availability and productivity for the development team


• Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure complete and functional systems that meet all requirements


• Recommending, and when approved, implementing process and policy improvements

Do you have what it takes?

• 10+ years’ experience with DevOps, front end development or full stack development


• Experience with Bash scripting


• Experience working within AWS (Amazon Web Services) environments


• Experience working with Linux administration and systems design


• Experience creating CI/CD pipelines


• Experience with network documentation including security compliance, configuration management, and patching.

PayRange: VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $180,000-$230,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
