The Opportunity

Our location in Abbott Park, IL. currently has an opportunity for a Senior DevOps Engineer.

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with a strong background in DevOps tools and practices. As a part of the team, you will be responsible for supporting the development team, building automated tools, and helping develop and maintain the build/deployment pipeline.

The ideal candidate is someone who has a passion for development and working on complex system software; takes pride in building top-quality software; and is driven to achieve operational excellence.

What You’ll Work On

  • Deployment and configuration management, release management, environments management and infrastructure automation

  • Apply DevOps thinking - i.e. bring development and IT ops processes, people and tools closer together - to increase the speed, efficiency and quality with which we deliver product solutions

  • Liaison with development teams, IT service groups and 3rd parties to encourage process transparency, mutually beneficial design, delivery practices design and implement fully automated delivery pipeline

  • Definition and execution of DevOps processes and models

  • Develop and test DevOps features and tools

  • Pro-actively look for ways to enhance the functionality, reliability, and operation of the delivery pipeline

  • Periodically review Windows OS cumulative updates and test deployment of updates and functionality of our software after updates are installed

  • Perform regular vulnerability reviews of source code using industry standard tools (e.g. Coverity)

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree and 7+ years of experience required

  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with the product development team in a solutions-driven approach to resolving roadblocks/troubleshooting

  • Capable of working independently to achieve critical program goals and driven to work through any obstacles encountered

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or similar curriculum preferred

  • Experience with management and configuration of Atlassian suite – Bamboo, JIRA, Bitbucket and Confluence strongly preferred

  • Experience in PowerShell scripts, Python scripts and other scripts as needed to automate processes preferred

  • Experience in deploying multilayer software to physical infrastructure or environments preferred

  • Experience in implementation of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline preferred

The base pay for this position is

$75,300.00 – $150,700.00
