Job summary

  • 7+ years of professional experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering.
  • Strong Linux administration, virtualization, and cloud-native tooling experience.
  • Experience with CI/CD, IaC, and automation frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Kubernetes platforms and cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Build, automate, and enhance infrastructure and platform services using Ansible, Terraform, Go, shell scripting, and related automation frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
  • Administer Linux and Windows environments while ensuring reliability, security, and performance.
  • Manage virtualization environments leveraging KVM, VMware, Hyper-V, and related technologies.
  • Collaborate with software development, QA, architecture, DevOps, and operations teams to deliver robust platform solutions.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and contribute to technology strategy, platform standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Enhance observability through monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational readiness initiatives.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Linux systems, Kubernetes platforms, virtualization technologies, automation, and modern DevOps practices. In this role, you will design, deploy, operate, troubleshoot, and automate enterprise-scale infrastructure and platform services that support the development and delivery of Morpheus and VM Essentials products. You will partner closely with software engineering, architecture, QA, and operations teams to deliver scalable, secure, highly available, and automated platforms. This position requires a hands-on technical leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about improving operational excellence through automation, observability, and cloud-native technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Kubernetes platforms and cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Build, automate, and enhance infrastructure and platform services using technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, Go, shell scripting, and related automation frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
  • Administer and support Linux and Windows environments while ensuring reliability, scalability, security, and performance.
  • Manage virtualization environments leveraging KVM, VMware, Hyper-V, and associated technologies.
  • Collaborate with software development, QA, architecture, DevOps, and operations teams to deliver robust platform solutions.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and contribute to technology strategy, platform standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Enhance observability through monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational readiness initiatives.
  • Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards.
  • Support software releases, platform upgrades, patching activities, and lifecycle management processes.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, knowledge base articles, and architecture diagrams.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to platform architecture, automation, and operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, platform, and deployment issues across distributed environments.
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality, reliable solutions within agreed timelines.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or related fields.
Technical Skills
Linux & Infrastructure
  • Strong Linux system administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Solid understanding of servers, operating systems, storage, and infrastructure architecture.
  • Experience operating highly available and distributed systems in enterprise environments.
Kubernetes & Cloud-Native Technologies
  • Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating Kubernetes platforms.
  • Strong expertise in container orchestration, deployment strategies, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of cloud-native architecture patterns and platform operations.
Programming & Automation
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using Shell and related technologies.
  • Experience developing infrastructure automation solutions and operational tooling.
  • Familiarity with Go or similar programming languages is highly desirable.
Virtualization & High Availability
  • Hands-on experience with KVM, VMware, Hyper-V, or related virtualization platforms.
  • Experience with clustering technologies and highly available system architectures.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery, business continuity, and resilience best practices.
Networking
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and technologies, including VLANs, DNS, IPAM, firewalls, load balancing, and routing/switching fundamentals.
DevOps & CI/CD
  • Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles, infrastructure as code, and software delivery automation.
  • Experience with deployment strategies, version control workflows, and release management practices.
Software Development Practices
  • Familiarity with Git-based version control systems.
  • Understanding of collaborative software development environments, code reviews, and Agile methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-native services.
  • Knowledge of distributed computing and microservices architectures.
  • Experience with platform observability tools and monitoring solutions.
  • Familiarity with security automation and infrastructure compliance frameworks.
  • Experience supporting large-scale engineering environments and developer platforms.

– United States of America: Annual Salary USD 144,000 - 273,000 in Colorado; 137,000 - 315,000 in North Carolina. The listed salary range reflects base salary. Variable incentives may also be offered.
