Job summary

KBR’s National Security Solutions team in Colorado Springs seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to integrate cloud technologies with DevOps practices for US Air Force Research Laboratory missions. The role combines building helm charts, Kubernetes, and CI/CD automation in a hybrid or onsite setting.

You will design cloud-native architectures, containerize applications, and collaborate across tech stacks to ensure reliable deployments and secure operations.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance (U.S. citizen)
• B.S. in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
• 1+ years of experience building helm charts and Kubernetes API objects
• 1+ years of experience writing Dockerfiles and containerizing applications
• 3+ years of experience with GNU/Linux commands, shell navigation, and Git version control
• Ability to research and solve complex technical problems independently

KBR’s National Security Solutions team seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer who will integrate cloud technologies with DevOps practices to support U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory missions.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and deploy helm charts to Kubernetes clusters
• Develop GitLab CI/CD pipelines to build, scan, publish, and deploy containers and helm charts
• Troubleshoot failed deployments and pipelines
• Containerize custom applications
• Design high‑level architecture for cloud‑native networks and systems
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support a variety of tech stacks

Work Environment

• Location: Colorado Springs, CO – Hybrid or Onsite
• Travel requirements: Minimal
• Working hours: Flexible

Qualifications

Required

• Active U.S. government TS/SCI security clearance (U.S. citizen)

• 1+ years of experience building helm charts and Kubernetes API objects
• 1+ years of experience writing Dockerfiles and containerizing applications

Desired

• Competence in building pipelines, preferably with GitLab
• Experience delivering a cloud‑native application
• Experience with AWS or Azure cloud services
• Familiarity with OAuth2, OIDC flows, or KeyCloak
• Experience with IaC tools, especially Terraform
• Experience deploying to air‑gapped networks
• Experience with Cert Manager, OpenSSL, and Public Key Infrastructure
• Experience with event streaming services, especially Kafka

Basic Compensation

$115,600 – $173,300 (Colorado Springs only)
