Job summary

VSG Business Solutions LLC is seeking a Senior Platform / DevOps Engineer to design, build, automate, and support modern cloud-native platforms in Charlotte, NC. You will collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to improve reliability, scalability, and deployment efficiency.

The role demands expertise in cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, CI/CD automation, IaC, and platform engineering, with hands-on experience across Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, and monitoring tools.

Qualifications

• Experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration technologies.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or Bamboo.
• Strong experience with Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Go.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, Datadog, or New Relic.
• Strong knowledge of Linux administration and networking fundamentals.
• Experience implementing DevSecOps and security best practices.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Platform / DevOps Engineer to design, build, automate, and support modern cloud-native platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in DevOps practices, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, CI/CD automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and platform engineering. The role requires close collaboration with development, security, and operations teams to improve application reliability, scalability, and deployment efficiency.

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain highly available cloud infrastructure and platform services.

Requirements:

• Years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration technologies.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or Bamboo.
• Strong experience with Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Go.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, Datadog, or New Relic.
• Strong knowledge of Linux administration and networking fundamentals.

Preferred, but not required:

• Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd.
• Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and practices.
• Experience with cloud security, IAM, and compliance frameworks.
• Exposure to API gateways, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with Kubernetes platforms such as EKS, AKS, or GKE.
• Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization strategies.
