Job Title :: DevOps Engineer
Location: Urbandale, IA 50322
Duration: Contract For 1+ years
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud automation solutions for AWS environments, infrastructure management, and operational enablement initiatives.
- Develop scalable automation tools using Python, Boto3, Terraform, and TypeScript.
- Serve as a senior technical contributor, writing high-quality code independently with minimal supervision.
- Build, enhance, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and modern DevOps practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Participate in a rotating on-call support schedule and provide off-hours support when required.
- Collaborate with globally distributed teams to support strategic ISG initiatives and cloud transformation projects.
- Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and promote development best practices.
- Develop automated testing frameworks using PYTest, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and test automation methodologies.
- Support cloud cost optimization (FinOps) initiatives through automation, monitoring, and reporting solutions.
- Document technical solutions, processes, and operational procedures.
- Continuously improve system reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of professional software development experience.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services).
- AWS Certification (Developer Associate, Solutions Architect, or DevOps Engineer).
- 4+ years of experience with:
- Python
- Boto3
- Terraform
- TypeScript
- GitHub Actions CI/CD
- Strong knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD), Test Automation, and PYTest.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting production systems and participating in on-call rotations.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with global teams and stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 10% as needed.
