Job summary

ASRC Federal is seeking a software engineer to provide long-term software O&M and data portal support for the ARMD program, including daily health checks, capacity monitoring, and feature development in collaboration with NASA users.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 4–6 years of software development experience, with Java and/or C++ expertise and an active US security clearance (or eligibility for Secret).

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent years of experience
• 4 - 6 years of related software development/administration experience (minimum 2 years software development)
• Active Security clearance, or ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance
• Development experience with an object-oriented language, Java and/or C++
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices (including object-oriented analysis & design, service-oriented architectures (SOA), SOLID principles, design patterns, etc.)
• Experience with requirements development, source control management, configuration management, bug tracking and other development tools.
• Experience managing application security, to include encryption protocols, LDAP or Kerberos authentication, certificates, and OS/Application hardening
• Ability to prioritize tasks to deliver project milestones and meet project deadlines
• Strong communication/written skills and ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse team of researchers and software developers.

• Track and update service tickets for user issues and internal system management tasks.
• Mentor and train junior members of the team
