Job summary

The International Rescue Committee in San Diego seeks a Senior Development Manager to lead resource development, communications, and volunteer management for the San Diego office. You’ll oversee donor cultivation, grants, events, and communications, guiding a small team and reporting to senior leadership.

Essential is 5+ years in fundraising with supervisory experience, strong donor relations, grant writing, and budget oversight.

Qualifications

• Essential: 5+ years of progressive experience in resource development and fundraising.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience with performance management.
• Experience managing organizational communications, media relations, and PR.
• Experience developing and monitoring a development budget and fundraising goals.
• Desirable: experience with San Diego/Southern California donor markets.
• Familiarity with IRC’s Integrated Fundraising Model or similar structure.

Responsibilities

• Lead private fundraising and donor stewardship for IRC San Diego.
• Develop and manage annual development plan and events.
• Oversee grant proposals and funding applications identified in the plan.
• Coordinate with Headquarters for integrated fundraising efforts.
• Maintain donor records in Salesforce and provide reporting/analytics.
• Produce IRC San Diego’s annual Impact Report and support communications.
• Manage communications and media relations to maintain brand standards.
