The American Cancer Society, Inc. is seeking a Senior Executive Director to lead fundraising across a market-based area, managing a team and driving aggressive revenue targets through corporate engagement, major gifts, and large events.

Ideal candidates will engage executive volunteers and align efforts with the mission pillars of Discovery, Patient Support, and Advocacy, with a remote-first setup but prefer residence near Nashville area.

Qualifications

• Design and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to drive significant revenue growth across channels.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate high-performing development teams to achieve ambitious goals.
• Utilize donor data and analytics to inform strategy and track performance.
• Leverage boards and volunteers as fundraising ambassadors and partners.
• Represent the organization as a spokesperson, including media channels.

Responsibilities

• Lead aggressive multi-year revenue growth via corporate partnerships, major gifts, and mega events ($500K+).
• Direct donor-centric revenue generation through a team of fundraising professionals.
• Serve as lead relationship manager for top-tier accounts and partnerships from engagement to execution.
• Recruit and manage Area Boards or CEOs Against Cancer Chapters with executive leaders.
• Build and maintain C-suite relationships to secure transformational gifts.
• Drive integration with mission pillars: Discovery, Patient Support, and Advocacy.
• Support fundraising strategy with additional duties as assigned.
