Job summary

Orion Placement in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a senior accounting leader to manage the complete lifecycle for multiple real estate development projects from pre-development through operations. You will lead monthly construction loan and equity draw processes, ensuring timely funding and accurate project costs, while preparing cash flows and budgets.

The role requires 3+ years in real estate development accounting, strong construction/project accounting knowledge, and the ability to coordinate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of direct real estate development accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of construction accounting, project accounting, and development finance.
  • Experience managing construction draws, loan funding, and project cash flow.
  • Experience with lenders, investors, auditors, and development teams.
  • CPA or MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete accounting lifecycle for multiple real estate development projects from pre-development through transition to operations.
  • Lead monthly construction loan and equity draw processes while ensuring timely funding and payment of project costs.
  • Prepare and analyze project cash flow forecasts, financial projections, budgets, and pro formas.
  • Coordinate project closings, financing activities, and accounting entries with lenders, investors, title companies, and internal teams.
  • Prepare and review sources and uses schedules, developer fee schedules, and equity installment schedules.
  • Oversee construction costs, job costing, project funding, and financial reporting.
  • Manage tax credit compliance and cost certification activities for LIHTC, Historic Tax Credits, and New Markets Tax Credit projects.
  • Partner with auditors, investors, and leadership during audits and financial reviews.
  • Prepare year-end accruals, development workpapers, and financial analyses for executive leadership.
  • Mentor and collaborate with accounting and project teams while driving process improvements.
