The Senior Developer is responsible for developing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting a broad range of highly complex applications, programs, websites, databases, and systems. Has an advanced knowledge of development concepts, practices, and procedures. Demonstrates a keen understanding of both IT and the business we support. Typically manages large projects or processes with limited oversight from leadership. Serves as a subject matter expert for the application, for technologies and integrations, or business processes.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Conducts a full range of programming tasks including program design, development, debugging, estimating, unit testing, and documentation for a variety of applications, systems, databases, or websites.
• Serves as a technical subject matter expert through all phases of system analysis and development.
• Collaborates with team leadership to design and develop well-integrated, enterprise-level solutions that meet present and future business needs.
• Determines testing methodology and manages the development and execution of comprehensive test plans including identifying key areas of application requiring stress or load testing.
• Reviews application modules and ensures compliance with application architecture standards.
• Implements application observability, monitoring, and pre-emptive alerting.
• Provides ongoing maintenance of applications, systems, databases, or websites.
• Provides third-level application support including on-call (after hours, weekends, holidays) for priority issues.
• Troubleshoots highly complex production issues, serving as escalation point. Evaluates and follows through on issues and problems until resolved.
• Leads the selection and evaluation of new vendor software solutions and packages.
• Leads knowledge sharing and shared understanding amongst the development team
• Follows secure coding standards and addresses security scan alerts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• May be responsible for entire projects or processes within area.
• Typically, responsible for coaching and reviewing the work of lower level professionals.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Requires broad knowledge of area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of program or project management.
• Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 4-6 years of prior relevant experience.

Required Skills:

• Technology skillset varies by team
• Hands-on delivery on Sitecore XM Cloud (including Sitecore JSS) or another headless CMS: content modeling, component-based page building, and GraphQL content delivery (Sitecore XP 10.x background a plus)
• Advanced React, Next.js and TypeScript, including Storybook-driven component libraries and deployment on a modern hosting platform such as Vercel
• Experience with Sitecore Content Hub (PIM and DAM): data modeling, asset and product workflows, and publishing to the website
• Designs and builds integrations with REST, OData and messaging services (such as Azure Service Bus), covering third-party APIs, syndication feeds and data migration · CI/CD and environment ownership using GitHub,Azure DevOps & Azure Functions (experience with other work-tracking and pipeline tools, such as Jira, is also acceptable),
• Production observability and support: monitoring, logging and alerting (Application Insights/KQL, Sentry or Vercel logs), root-cause analysis, and on-call escalation
