Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Senior Detention Officer in Cushing, Oklahoma, to supervise Detention Officers and support the safety and security of inmates/residents within the facility.

You will oversee shift operations, ensure accurate inmate counts, enforce key control procedures, and assist in maintaining facility security and compliance with corporate guidelines. A clean driving record, a high school diploma or GED, and 3 years in criminal justice are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Three years experience in a criminal justice field, preferably with one year in a supervisory capacity.
• Basic pre-service officer training completion; valid driver's license; minimum age 20.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision of Detention Officers and inmates/residents on the shift.
• Inspect housing and general use areas to ensure security, health, safety, sanitation and welfare.
• Supervise internal and external facility security; inspect posts for alertness and proper security.
