Job summary

Richmond County District Attorney is seeking a Senior Detective Investigator to join the team on Staten Island. The role focuses on leading investigations across cold case homicides, organized crime, narcotics, identity theft, and financial crimes, with responsibilities including witness transport, background checks, and trial support.

Preferred candidates will have 3+ years of NY state police experience, accredited academy training, and firearms certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications require an Associate degree or 60 credits with police-related specialization and either one year of satisfactory police officer/deputy sheriff experience or one year of investigations experience; or a four-year high school diploma and three years of police/officer experience or equivalent.
• Driver license valid in NY for duration of employment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations across a broad range of topics including cold case homicides, organized crime, narcotics, financial crimes, violent crime, and more.
• Assist in transporting witnesses for grand jury/court appearances.
• Conduct background checks for prospective RCDA employees.
• Conduct surveillance and assist prosecutors with trial preparation.
• Interview witnesses and arrange witness protection as directed by the Chief Investigator.
• Other duties as assigned.
