Job summary

Cerebras Systems seeks a senior Detection and Response Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate the internal systems that power our security telemetry and automated responses. You will own core infrastructure, pipelines, and health monitoring, collaborating with D&R engineers to advance reliability, tooling, and developer experience at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cloud infrastructure, platform/SRE, software or security engineering with strong infrastructure focus.
• Strong Python skills; write clean, testable production code.
• Hands-on ops in a major cloud environment (AWS/Azure/GCP) including IAM, networking, logging/auditing.
• Experience building event/log pipelines (streaming or batch) with reliability and data quality.
• IaC and deployment automation (Terraform/Pulumi, CI/CD).
• Knowledge of detection/response across cloud, identity, and endpoints; partner with D&R engineers.
• Solid OS, networking, and distributed systems troubleshooting.
• Excellent written communication; create clear docs and runbooks.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the core infrastructure powering detection and response workflows at scale.
• Design and maintain security telemetry pipelines for logs and events (collection, normalization, retention).
• Own the execution environment and tooling for detections and automation, including config management and release processes.
• Automate investigation and response workflows by extending integrations across tools we rely on.
• Set and uphold engineering standards: interfaces, automated tests, code reviews, documentation.
• Own operational health for the platform, including metrics, alerting, and on-call reliability.
• Explore AI-driven approaches to reduce toil and strengthen our security posture.
• Maintain operational playbooks and procedures to diagnose and recover from failures.
