Job summary

Serval, Inc. is seeking a Detection and Response Lead to architect and scale security monitoring, incident response, recovery, and post-incident improvement across our infrastructure.

You will lead a hands-on team, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Engineering and Product to embed detection and response by design across systems used by our customers. This is a high-impact role in a fast-growing AI security space, reporting to the VP of Security.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years in cybersecurity with focus on detection and response.
• Experience building and leading detection and response teams.
• Proven ability to drive durable improvements to programs, processes, and people.
• Excellent written and verbal communication under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate detection and response operations across networks and infrastructure.
• Lead and mentor a team spanning observability, detection/response, and threat intelligence.
• Establish incident playbooks, on-call, escalation paths, and continuous improvement.
• Enhance telemetry availability and reliability across cloud, corporate, and production environments.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, and Infrastructure to embed detection by design.
• Build a security program capable of withstanding sophisticated adversaries using Serval's agents.
