Job summary

NVIDIA Security is seeking a Senior Detection Engineer to join the Detection and Automation Engineering team. You will help build reliable detection coverage that helps responders identify real threats quickly, reduce noise, and protect NVIDIA's enterprise, cloud, developer, and production environments.

You will translate complex incidents and threat intel into testable detection logic, investigate telemetry before alerting, and drive the full detection lifecycle from design through deployment,

Qualifications

• 8+ years in detection/security engineering or related roles.
• Degree in CS, cybersecurity, or engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with major SIEM or security analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

• Build and tune high-confidence detections across platforms such as Splunk, Defender, CrowdStrike, cloud logs, and identity telemetry.
• Translate incidents, hunts, threat intel, red-team findings into testable detection logic.
• Investigate telemetry before alerting, considering field behavior, timing, baselines, and false positives.
• Drive the full detection lifecycle: design, query development, validation, deployment, tuning, monitoring, and retirement.
• Strengthen detection-as-code workflows with test data, metadata, rollout safety, and coverage reporting.
• Partner with responders to cut noise and provide useful context for severity decisions.
