Job summary

Bjak is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own the desktop experience of our cross-platform applications. This remote role focuses on reliability, performance, and real-time behavior in production Electron apps.

You will work with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Electron, optimizing startup time, memory usage, and cross-platform stability on macOS and Windows while delivering AI-assisted features via backend APIs.

Qualifications

• Production Electron applications experience required.
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills with React experience.
• Familiarity with desktop app lifecycle and IPC.
• Cross‑platform desktop development on macOS/Windows preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the desktop behavior of the system in production.
• Improve reliability, performance, and real-time responsiveness.
• Optimize startup time, memory usage, and runtime performance.
• Profile and reduce Electron overhead while handling large local state.
