Job summary

Liverpool Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Designer to partner with the Design Director to shape the women's sportswear collection. This role drives seasonal product direction and translates trends into elevated, commercially viable pieces.

You will lead design from concept through development, mentor junior designers, and collaborate with Merchandising, Production, Technical Design, Sourcing, and Product Development to ensure on-time delivery with high design integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
• 7–10+ years of women's apparel design experience, sportswear or lifestyle.
• Strong taste with ability to translate trends into commercial product.
• Deep expertise in fabrics, construction, fit, and garment engineering.
• Experience partnering with overseas factories during development.
• Proficiency in Illustrator and PLM systems.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Design Director to execute the seasonal vision for Women's RTW.
• Identify key items to establish seasonal direction consistent with Liverpool DNA.
• Drive fabric continuity and innovation with sourcing and development teams.
• Conduct trend research and market analysis to identify fashion-relevant opportunities.
• Create detailed sketches, technical flats, color direction, prints, and embellishments.
• Develop tech packs and work with overseas vendors through sampling and development.
• Attend sample reviews and fittings to ensure fit, quality, and design execution.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver product on time at a high standard.
• Champion product excellence by refining design details and finishing techniques.
• Mentor junior designers and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Maintain awareness of business performance and customer insights for future decisions.

The Senior Designer partners with the Design Director to execute the creative vision for the Women's Sportswear collection. This role is responsible for driving seasonal product direction through the identification of key items, fabric continuity, and design concepts that align with and evolve the Liverpool Los Angeles brand aesthetic.

The Senior Designer leads the design process from concept through development, translating market insights and trends into elevated, commercially relevant product. Success in this role requires exceptional taste, a strong understanding of fabric, fit, and construction, a collaborative approach, and a hands on commitment to delivering product with a high level of design integrity and execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the Design Director to execute the seasonal creative vision across Women's RTW
• Identify and develop the key items that establish seasonal direction while maintaining consistency with the Liverpool brand DNA.
• Drive fabric continuity and innovation by partnering closely with sourcing and development teams to build a cohesive, elevated fabric assortment.
• Conduct ongoing trend research, competitive shopping, and market analysis to identify opportunities that are both fashion-relevant and commercially viable.
• Create detailed sketches, technical flats, color direction, print concepts, and embellishment layouts with exceptional attention to detail.
• Develop comprehensive tech packs and partner with overseas vendors throughout the sampling and development process.
• Attend sample reviews and fittings, providing clear direction to achieve consistent fit, quality, and design execution.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Merchandising, Production, Technical Design, Sourcing, and Product Development to deliver product on time and at the highest standard.
• Champion product excellence by continuously refining design details, fabric choices, and finishing techniques that elevate the brand.
• Mentor and inspire junior designers while fostering a collaborative, solutions-oriented team environment.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field.
• 7–10+ years of women's apparel design experience, with a strong background in contemporary sportswear or lifestyle apparel.
• Exceptional taste with a proven ability to identify emerging trends and translate them into commercially successful product.
• Deep expertise in fabrics, construction techniques, garment engineering, and fit.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with overseas factories throughout the product development process.
• Expert in Adobe Illustrator and PLM
• Proficiency in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Suite, especially Excel a plus
• Highly organized with excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple seasons and deadlines simultaneously.
