About the Role

This is a role for a creative individual with a passion for leading design systems work. You'll build the BetMGM Design System by producing systemic design solutions that raise the bar of quality and take a user first approach to solving problems. Your work will allow our teams to deliver more efficiently, delight and empower our customers, and help us evolve the vision and experience of our products.

Responsibilities

• Drive the evolution of our design system in partnership with engineering by implementing high quality design and engineering solutions with the goal of enhancing the way we build products at BetMGM.

• Maintain and evolve component libraries in Figma based on team feedback and needs to refine tooling and bring efficiency to design workflows.

• Collaborate with product designers to intake user and product needs, translating their goals to system solutions at scalethrough tokens, components, and interaction patterns.

• Using tools like Storybook and ZeroHeight, write clear guidelines that support accurate usage of design system components and tokens.

• Drive the strategy for design system governance models, striking a balance between standardization and flexibility based on team needs.

• Foster a culture of systems thinking and design excellence by mentoring others on the team and providing real time support to partners via office hours and Teams.

• Demonstrate an understanding of best practices in layout, typography, visual hierarchy, data visualization, accessibility in digital interface design across multiple platforms and screen sizes.

• Understand the importance of User Research and Data Science to define what qualitative and quantitative data will be important in your work.

• Stay informed on design trends, tools, and best practices to keep our design system modern and efficient.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a product designer, with 3+ years dedicated to design systems. You have a proven track record of working with cross-functional teams and releasing consumer or enterprise products.

• Deep expertise in Figma. You have experience working on multiple libraries, maintainingcomponents and creating workflows that scale. Experience working with Variables is a plus.

• Knowledge of basic web development concepts. We don't expect you to code, but you should know how to communicate design intent to developers and align on effective technical solutions.

• A passion for enabling peers and partners. You're a leader who mentors and fosters a culture of high quality execution and can evangelize design system solutions in a growing company culture.
  Experience supporting multiple teams and projects with the ability to balance and effectively prioritize several streams of work.

• Experience with quick decision-making, rapid iteration and an ability to break down problems to execute when faced with constraints.

• A growth-mindset and love of learning. You're open and receptive to feedback and can adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.

• A portfolio of work containing case studies showcasing scalable problem solving, design system solutions and well-crafted design.

The annual salary range for this position is $125,840.00 to $165,165.00.Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.This position is also eligible for participation in a performance-based bonus plan.

As an online gaming company, BetMGM is required to comply with state gaming regulations which includes licensing obligations.Applicable employees must be licensed by at least one jurisdictional agency, although certain positions require licensing by multiple agencies.Failure to become licensed or maintain licensure with each agency as required for the role may result in termination of employment.Please note that the licensing process includes comprehensive background checks which may include a review of criminal records, financial history, and personal background verification.

In addition, candidates must comply with and support the company's responsible gambling policies, procedures and initiatives.

Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. The position is also eligible for an annual bonus.
