Job summary

Keywords Studios is a global partner for game developers and publishers, delivering art, design, testing and player engagement services. We seek a Senior Designer to lead projects from concept to delivery across multiple studios, mentoring teams in Manila and London and raising design standards across brands and IPs.

You will present ideas to the team and clients, ensuring on-brand execution with a strong craft in typography and layout.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in graphic design, ideally in the digital and gaming sectors.
• Expert knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
• Strong working knowledge of After Effects and Premiere Pro.
• Proven experience leading end-to-end motion delivery, including concepting, storyboarding and styleframing, and directing others.
• A user-centred design approach, with accessibility and storytelling considerations.
• Experience mentoring designers and giving constructive, actionable feedback, including to remote or offshore teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in client-facing situations.

Responsibilities

Role overview

We are a social agency building brands with fans for some of the biggest names in the gaming industry, through work spanning digital, design and advertising. We’re looking for a talented and driven Senior Designer to join our Manila team. You’ll be a confident, self-directed designer with exceptional craft and the experience to lead projects from concept to delivery. You’ll present ideas to the wider team, our creative leads and our clients with conviction, and raise the standard of everyone around you so the work goes beyond client expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead design output on key accounts across the business, owning the creative quality of your projects and making sure high standards are kept on every deliverable, from first concept to final design output..
• Become the go-to expert on the brands and IPs you work with. Know their brand books inside out, guide the team on how to apply them and judge confidently when to stretch the rules and push the work further to deliver the creative vision.
• Set the bar for design craft, with a meticulous eye for detail and an excellent command of typography, layout and composition. Review and refine the team’s work to make sure every output is polished and on-brand.
• Partner with project managers to scope design requirements, estimate timings and plan resource. Make sure work meets specs and deliverables, and keep quality high under tight deadlines.
• Act as the senior design point of contact for our Manila team, giving clear creative direction, feedback and mentoring so that all design and motion work meets the standards set. Help build consistent processes across both studios.
• Mentor and support junior and mid-weight designers in Manila & London, helping them develop their craft.
• Present and defend creative work to clients and internal stakeholders, contributing to pitches and new business where needed.

Knowledge and skills:

• 6+ years of experience in graphic design, ideally in the digital and gaming sectors, with a strong portfolio of brand, campaign and digital work.
• Expert knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
• Strong working knowledge of After Effects and Premiere Pro.
• Proven experience leading end-to-end motion delivery, including concepting, storyboarding and styleframing, and directing others through the process.
• A user-centred design approach, shown by thoughtful consideration of accessibility, platforms and contextual storytelling.
• Experience mentoring designers and giving constructive, actionable creative feedback, including to remote or offshore teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence in client-facing situations.
• Self-motivated and highly organised, with a sharp eye for detail and a strong sense of ownership over deadlines.
• Positive and committed, with a can-do attitude and a calm, flexible approach to complex problems.
