Job summary

Cognition Studio, Inc. in Seattle is seeking a designer to design across brand identity systems, websites, environmental and experiential work, and print/media campaigns.

You will be the soloist on heavy-lift projects from concept to final craft, joining a project midstream when needed. The role requires a BDes from a strong design program, a growing leadership instinct, and proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and Claude-based AI workflows.

Qualifications

• Portfolio spanning brand systems, websites, environmental or experiential work, and print/media campaigns.
• Craft mastery deep enough to be solo on heavy-lift work, and agile enough to support a team midstream.
• Appetite for collaboration with strategists and writers.
• BDes from a strong design program (required).
• Growing leadership instinct and curiosity about science, health, and innovation.
• Expert Figma, proficient Adobe Creative Suite, and an AI-assisted workflow (Claude-savvy).
• Client-facing experience is a welcome bonus, not a requirement.

What you do

• Design across brand identity systems, websites, environmental design, kiosks, and print and media campaigns, moving fluidly between print, digital, and interactive.


• Be the soloist on heavy-lift work and own a demanding build from concept to final craft, and drop into a project midstream without needing the full backstory to start.


• Couple tightly with Strategy and Communications, and work alongside writers, strategists, medical illustrators, and animators.


• Hold a high personal craft standard, begin to influence the quality of others' work, and take on more of the arc as you go.

Compensation and benefits
