Furniture Marketing Group Inc. is seeking a Senior Designer to collaborate with the sales team and clients on commercial interior design, space planning, and programming. You will select commercial office products and curate world‑class spaces, reporting to the Design Manager.

The role involves design development, client coordination, and installation drafting, with close teamwork across disciplines to meet project timelines and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on interior design.
• NCIDQ certification or similar (WELL, LEED) is preferred.
• High level of product knowledge regarding commercial office furniture.

Responsabilités

• Design Development: work with sales/client to determine function, budget, scope, and furnishings.
• Advise on space planning, layouts, color schemes, and accessibility codes.
• Provide schematic and design development drawings; coordinate with architectural/mechanical/electrical plans.
• Create installation drawings and core plans; manage project documents and time sheets.
• Attend meetings with design, sales, and clients to ensure project alignment and timely execution.

Job Summary:The Senior Designer will also work closely with the sales team and clients on commercial interior design, space planning, and programming, selecting commercial office products, and curating world-class spaces for our clients.This position reports to the Manager, Design.Responsibilities and Duties:Design DevelopmentWork with salesperson and/or client to determine purpose and function of environment, budget, scope of project, time schedules, types of furniture and equipment to be installed, and other factors which affect planning interior environments.Advise salesperson and/or client on interior design factors such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, color schemes, color coordination, and codes according to local governing jurisdictions.Provide schematic design and design development drawings.Coordinate design intent with architectural, mechanical, and electrical plans.ProcurementBuild final validation packets for sign-off from client.Create installation drawings and core plans for installation and project management.On-goingMaintain project files and time sheets on all work performed according to departmental guidelines.Attend all design/sales meetings and educational seminars as requested.Attend client meetings, both on-site and off-site as requested.Other duties as assigned.Required EducationBachelor’s degree with emphasis on interior designRequired skillsHigh level of product knowledge regarding commercial office furnitureHigh level of independence – able to work with minimal supervisionThrive in a fast-paced work environmentHave a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and be self-motivatedWorking knowledge of accessibility codesStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenDetail-orientedExceptional customer service skillsPreferred skillsNCIDQ certification or similar certification (WELL, LEED)Working knowledge of AUTOCAD, CET, Project MatrixStrong acumen with Microsoft office productsAdobe Acrobat
