Job summary

Business of Home seeks a Senior Designer to lead residential interior design projects from concept through installation. You will develop thoughtful designs, manage documentation, and ensure clients have an exceptional experience throughout the process.

Responsibilities

• Develop creative design concepts, space plans, and material palettes tailored to each client's lifestyle, goals, and aesthetic.
• Source and specify furniture, lighting, finishes, plumbing fixtures, hardware, textiles, decorative accessories, artwork, and styling elements.
• Design and develop custom millwork, cabinetry, furniture, and other bespoke design solutions as needed.
• Prepare and present design concepts, drawings, renderings, mood boards, specifications, and client presentations.
• Produce and maintain accurate construction drawings, interior detailing, finish schedules, and project documentation.
• Collaborate closely with architects, builders, contractors, consultants, fabricators, and workrooms to ensure the design intent is carried through execution.
• Attend client meetings, site visits, vendor appointments, project walkthroughs, installations, and photoshoots as required.
• Provide creative direction during project installations and final styling to ensure each space is executed to the studio's standards.
• Review project progress, identify design challenges, and proactively develop thoughtful solutions throughout each phase of the project.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers and design support staff, fostering collaboration, learning, and consistency across the studio.

While this role focuses on the design and technical execution of projects. Proposals, purchasing, order management, and related administrative functions will be managed separately by the Operations team.
