Job summary

LangChain is building the infrastructure for the next generation of AI applications. The Design Systems Engineer will own a scalable component library and partner with design and product teams to deliver robust, accessible UI foundations used across LangChain’s products.

You will collaborate with designers to translate design systems into reusable components, build tooling for theming and testing, and drive performance and consistency across the UI stack.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building modular, composable component libraries and/or design systems.
• Deep knowledge of React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience collaborating with designers and non-engineering partners.
• Strong attention to detail and passion for accessibility and inclusive design.
• Familiarity with testing UI components and visual regression testing.

Responsibilities

• Build and own LangChain’s component library.
• Design and implement reusable React components that are accessible and production-ready.
• Partner with designers to translate design systems into code.
• Build reliable UI quality systems.
• Develop tooling for theming, tokens, versioning, testing, and component discovery (e.g. Storybook).
• Make architectural decisions for accessibility, performance, and maintainability.
• Improve UI build and test workflows.
• Optimize build performance and package versioning for the component library.
• Maintain tooling for testing and dependency management of the UI app.
