Job summary

IPS, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a Design Project Engineer to join our team at our Cary, NC office (and related Blue Bell, PA location). You will provide technical leadership and coordinate multidisciplinary design activities for complex life sciences facilities.

Responsibilities include ensuring design compliance, leading design reviews, coordinating with architects, BIM teams, and vendors, and supporting cost estimates and change management throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Min. 7 years of progressive engineering experience in technical project roles.
• Experience in the AEC, Pharmaceutical, or Life Sciences industries preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Expertise in engineering design programs and BIM tools (e.g., Navisworks).
• General knowledge of system design and applicable codes.

Responsibilities

• Support project leads in resource planning and work plans, aligning with budget, schedule, and deliverables.
• Ensure design compliance with safety, quality, client design guidelines, and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate input across disciplines for equipment lists and design input.
• Lead design coordination meetings and reviews with multidisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate architects, engineers, BIM teams, contractors, and vendors to meet contractual obligations.
• Monitor design content against design documents, schedule, and budget.
• Assist in proposals, change management, and client communications.
