Job summary

PMCS Group, Inc. is seeking senior-level architects or engineers in the Los Angeles area to manage multiple educational facility projects, with emphasis on seismic and retrofit work. You will oversee design teams, coordinate A&E services, and ensure compliance with district standards, budgets, and schedules.

The role requires extensive experience in education facility design and strong communication skills, with relocation to the LA area expected for on-site work.

Qualifications

• 14 years of full-time professional experience in facilities design or planning capital projects.
• At least 4 years in design/planning/construction of educational facilities or similar public agencies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages multiple projects with emphasis on seismic, critical repair and retrofit projects.
• Supervises a design professional team through the design review process.
• Develops and coordinates the District's design process for A&E services within budget, environment, and legal requirements.
• Coordinates with Architects, consultants, and District personnel to ensure timely project completion.
• Ensures building designs meet LAUSD standards and guidelines for educational and building requirements.
• Identifies and selects architectural firms based on qualifications and performance potential.
• Provides clear direction to Architects on goals, standards, sites, schedules, and budgets.
• Maintains an effective design review process to meet project objectives.
• Delivers maximum value for dollars budgeted and ensures durable functional outcomes for the District and community.
• Reviews design changes to keep projects within budget and tracks status with updates.
