Senior Design Manager - NIKE, Inc. - Beaverton, OR
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing samples to ensure marketable solutions in collaboration with design, marketing, and development teams.
- Maintaining color calendars, timelines, and deadlines for timely product completion.
- Developing line art, color design server, GPIN, merchandising lines, and coordinating materials with material consultants.
- Applying advanced design skills to create original, innovative, and retainable color solutions for specific categories or genders.
- Researching and delivering insights on color, design, market, and lifestyle trends influencing the product category.
- Contributing to seasonal color strategies and creating category-specific color, material, and graphic directions.
- Creating seasonal color merchandising strategies and stories in partnership with the category and design director.
- Understanding consumer and brand positioning needs related to the category/division and applying these insights to color solutions.
- Presenting and communicating color directions and merchandising strategies to internal and external stakeholders.
- Producing presentation materials that effectively communicate color concepts and strategies.
- Participating in bi-annual category/division color needs assessments for footwear color committees.
- Collaborating with color design management and expert designers to refine skills and knowledge.
- Providing design support to the team and advancing the value of color through expertise in materials, effects, technology, and tools.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Product Design, Graphic Design, Material Design, or Textile Design.
- Five (5) years of post-baccalaureate experience in a related role, including:
- Proficiency in CAD programs on Macintosh.
- Knowledge of footwear technical construction, design problem solving, and product development processes.
- Understanding of manufacturing materials and processes.
- Expertise in color trends, mixing, compatibility, and placement.
- Skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Keynote, and narrative/concept building.
- Ability to interpret consumer insights and trends, conduct qualitative research, and manage design projects.
- Experience presenting product directions to athletes and global stakeholders.
