Job summary

Fireline Sprinkler is seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to lead the fire sprinkler design department onsite. You will oversee layouts, hydraulic calculations, fabrication drawings, and stock lists while ensuring compliance with NFPA standards and project specifications.

The role requires guiding design personnel, managing workload, and collaborating with operations, project management, and field teams to drive growth.

Qualifications

• NICET Certification is required.
• Extensive knowledge of NFPA standards and fire protection system design.
• Minimum 10 years of fire sprinkler design experience.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Proficiency with AutoSPRINK, HydraCAD, Revit and AutoCAD.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead design managers and fire sprinkler designers; provide mentorship and development.
• Oversee design of fire sprinkler systems: layouts, hydraulic calculations, fabrication drawings, stock lists.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, customer specifications, and company quality standards.
• Review and approve complex designs while providing technical guidance and problem-solving support.
• Manage department workload, staffing, and resource allocation to support project schedules and growth.
• Collaborate with Operations, Project Management, Sales, Fabrication, and Field teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and process efficiencies.
• Monitor KPIs, department productivity, and project milestones.
• Support strategic planning, technology implementation, and long-term departmental growth.

We are seeking an experienced and strategicSenior Design Manager to lead our fire sprinkler design department. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing design operations, managing and developing design personnel, ensuring technical excellence, and driving departmental performance. The Senior Design Manager will work closely with project management, operations, fabrication, field teams, and customers to deliver high-quality fire protection system designs that meet project goals, code requirements, and customer expectations.

Note: This role is required to work onsite and is not a remote position.

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Drafting, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of fire sprinkler design experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• NICET Certification required.
• Extensive knowledge of NFPA standards and fire protection system design.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic calculations, fabrication processes, and installation practices.
• Proficiency with industry design software such as AutoSPRINK, HydraCAD, Revit, and AutoCAD.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel approximately 25%.
