Job summary

Gessner Engineering, LLC. is seeking a Design Lead to oversee the design team on large-scale projects in Bryan, Texas. This role requires a P.E. license and 5–10 years of experience with project management, using structural codes and diverse materials.

You will sign and seal plan sets, guide schematic design, plan tasks, and mentor project engineers and designers while coordinating with clients and design teams. Salary ranges from $100,000 to $115,000 annually.

Qualifications

BS in Structural Engineering is required; MS preferred.
5–10 years of engineering experience with project management experience.
Experience with IBC/IRC/ASCE 7/ACI/PCI/AISC/NDS/TMS codes and construction materials.

Responsibilities

Act as the primary design engineer of record and project lead for large-scale projects.
Provide regular project reviews on design progress, schedule, and issues.
Sign and seal plan sets as appropriate for project involvement.
Create or direct schematic design layouts and establish initial design direction.
Plan tasks, timelines, and delegate to engineers and designers.
Perform QA/QC of delegated tasks and mentor staff.
