Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking a Design Engineering Manager in Port Clinton, Ohio, to lead a design team focused on conveyor and material-handling solutions. The role reports to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering and emphasizes technical excellence and mentorship.

You will drive mechanical designs, oversee 3D CAD work, and collaborate with Sales, Project Management, Manufacturing and Installation to deliver complex engineered systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience with leadership exposure.
• Strong mechanical design background in conveyor/material handling domains.
• High proficiency with SolidWorks and 3D CAD systems.
• Experience with ERP and PLM/PDM processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop the design engineering team.
• Oversee conveyor layouts, 3D CAD models and mechanical designs.
• Provide technical leadership on motors, gearboxes, belts and drives.
• Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, Manufacturing and Installation.
• Drive standards, processes and continuous improvement.
