Job summary

Nightingale, a leader in healthcare lighting, seeks a Senior Manager of Design Engineering, New Product Innovation to drive next-generation solutions. This role blends startup agility with Acuity’s scale, leading a team of seasoned engineers from concept to commercialization.

You will influence across Product Management, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain, manage architecture and prototyping, and ensure products integrate nLight controls and low‑voltage healthcare technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, product design, industrial design, or related field.
• 10+ years in engineering, product development, or innovation with leadership responsibilities.
• Proven success delivering new products from concept to commercialization.
• Strong cross-functional leadership, communication, and organizational influence.
• Knowledge of Acuity's nLight controls platform or comparable networked lighting controls.
• Experience with low‑voltage control systems in healthcare environments.
• Experience balancing breakthrough innovation with roadmap execution and delivery.
• Lighting, healthcare, medical device, or related industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Nightingale New Product Innovation engineering from concept through commercialization.
• Own engineering execution and resource priorities across multiple fast-paced product programs.
• Build and mentor a growing team of experienced Design Engineering professionals.
• Drive product architecture, mechanical and electrical design integration, prototyping, validation, and launch readiness.
• Ensure effective integration of lighting and control solutions, including nLight and low-voltage patient-room controls.
• Partner with Nexus, Design Hub, Product Management, and Marketing to translate insights into differentiated products.
• Engage Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sourcing, and Quality to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.
• Establish engineering standards and operating mechanisms supporting creativity and disciplined execution.
