Job description

Position Summary

This is a hands-on design engineering role in a small, close-knit technical team. You'll take projects from the first sizing request through submittal, approval and production drawings, working directly with consulting engineers and partner companies every day. The team is open to intermediate and senior engineers. For a senior hire there is a clear path into engineering leadership and R&D as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Size and design stormwater quality devices from site plans received from consulting engineers and precast concrete partners
  • Prepare design submittals, including alternate equal designs where a competing product has been specified
  • Carry out hydraulic and hydrologic calculations, including hydraulic grade line analysis for DOT and municipal projects
  • Produce production drawings and manufacturing files using parametric 3D CAD, which feed directly into in-house CNC fabrication
  • Work daily with consulting engineers, precast partners and stormwater storage partners to answer technical questions and resolve design issues
  • Manage a high volume of concurrent projects, many of which run in phases over months or years
  • Senior candidates: contribute to product development, testing and R&D, and help guide junior engineers
About You
  • Degree in civil, water resources, environmental or mechanical engineering
  • At least 2 years of private-sector experience, ideally with a land development or site civil consultancy, or a stormwater product manufacturer
  • Solid understanding of stormwater hydraulics and hydrology, including hydraulic grade lines
  • Experience with Autodesk Fusion, SolidWorks or another parametric 3D CAD tool is a strong advantage; AutoCAD experience is also useful
  • A self-starter who learns quickly, manages time and budgets well and is comfortable owning projects end to end
  • Enjoys working on-site alongside a small team where you'll learn quickly and have real influence
