Design Engineer role focuses on innovating sealing solutions, improving manufacturability, and guiding products from concept to commercialization. You will lead design reviews, perform FEA verification, and collaborate across functions to ensure performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness in challenging environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline is required.
• 7-10+ years of aerospace mechanical seal design or turbomachinery experience.
• Proficiency with ANSYS, ADINA or similar FEA code is required.
• Proficiency with Siemens NX, SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling is preferred.
• Experience with AS9100, ISO9001, Six Sigma, and Lean manufacturing.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of innovative sealing solutions from concept to commercialization.
• Conduct design verification using advanced finite element analysis tools.
• Develop and implement test methods and hardware for new product validation.
• Manage prototype part fabrication and testing.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, quality assurance, and project management to ensure DFM and rapid fabrication.
• Create and maintain process control documentation, risk assessments, and validation.
• Facilitate technical communication with internal stakeholders, external customers, and suppliers, including leading design reviews.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in design and manufacturing processes.
