Job summary

ALCOM LLC designs and manufactures 160+ trailer models across multiple plants nationwide. The Sr. Design Engineer will drive mechanical design of new trailers, improve existing designs, and ensure manufacturability, collaborating with Sales, Quoting, Quality, and Production teams.

Requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, SolidWorks proficiency, and ERP/BOM understanding. Experience with trailers is preferred; relocation is not provided. Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• SolidWorks CAD experience, preferably 2+ years.
• Basic understanding of ERP and BOM systems.
• Experience with snowmobile, ATV, open and enclosed trailers is desired.

Responsibilities

• Create engineering drawings and designs that meet specifications.
• Generate 3D SolidWorks weldments and Bills of Materials.
• Prepare manufacturing-ready drawings with all views and dimensions.
• Use SolidWorks to develop layouts and diagrams for production.
• Apply knowledge of metal weldments, manufacturing practices, and terminology.
• Collaborate with Sales, Quoting, Quality and Production teams.
• Support R&D for new product development and quality upgrades.
• Interact heavily with Inside Sales and Manufacturing management.
• Perform other assigned engineering duties.
