Job summary

FN America, LLC is seeking a Lead Design Engineer in Columbia, SC to drive product development from concept to data package. You will guide analysis, testing, and evaluation of new products, while supporting extensions and improvements to existing designs.

The role demands a BS in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred) and at least six years of design engineering experience, with strong GD&T and Creo skills, and the ability to produce clear technical reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; Master’s preferred.
• Six years of experience in a design engineering role.
• Ability to author thorough status and technical reports.
• Knowledge of firearm processing technologies and related manufacturing methods.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to PDP by developing new product platforms and derivatives.
• Plans, conducts and documents hands-on product testing.
• Creates execution strategies and leads a team of engineers to milestones.
• Collaborates cross-functionally and provides guidance to junior engineers.
• Develops and implements product design improvements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
