Wood Construction Lumber Job Search in Arizona is seeking a Sr. Design Engineer to own the drawing function for doors and millwork, read plans, specify hardware, and prepare shop packets for production flow.

Candidates should have 5+ years in premium doors/millwork, deep hardware knowledge, CNC and shop equipment experience, and a track record mentoring a junior drafter, delivering drawings from concept to installation.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of technical design experience in custom doors, architectural millwork, or premium residential construction.
• Deep working knowledge of door construction and hardware function.
• Experience owning drawings from concept through approval to production.
• Fluency with AutoCAD and familiarity with woodworking shop equipment.

Responsibilities

• Own the drawing function for doors and millwork from concept to production.
• Resolve technical questions during the design phase and lead a junior drafter.
• Prepare shop packets that align with shop capabilities and flow to the floor.
• Maintain and improve design processes within existing systems.
• Mentor and raise the drafter's ceiling through example and teaching.
