Job summary

Cianbro is seeking a Design Engineer III to join our engineering team in Maine. This role reports to a licensed Professional Engineer and develops engineering calculations, drawings, and technical solutions while collaborating with project teams to deliver safe, practical, and cost-effective results.

The position supports planning, design, and execution of construction projects and requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, 2+ years of experience, and EIT certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of engineering design experience.
• EIT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Develop design drawings, calculations, specifications and other engineering deliverables under supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Meet with internal clients to define scopes of work for design tasks.
• Coordinate with project teams to evaluate alternatives and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Apply engineering principles and construction knowledge to support planning, design and execution of construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, codes and ethical requirements.
• Develop knowledge of construction engineering topics such as structural analysis, cofferdams, crane planning and rigging.
• Support field operations through site visits and field investigations.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to support growth.
• Utilize engineering and drafting software to support project execution.
