Job summary

Cianbro is seeking a Design Engineer III to join our engineering team in Maine. This experienced role focuses on applying engineering principles and construction knowledge to support planning, design, and execution of projects, under supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer.

Compensation ranges weekly based on knowledge and experience. The position may be based in Falmouth or Pittsfield, Maine, and involves developing drawings, calculations, and technical solutions while collaborating

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
• 2+ years engineering design experience
• EIT certification required
• Working knowledge of construction engineering principles and industry standards
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Suite, and RISA, or similar design software
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of a Professional Engineer to develop design drawings, calculations, specifications, and other engineering deliverables.
• Meet with internal clients to develop scopes of work for design tasks and support project needs.
• Coordinate with project teams and other disciplines to evaluate alternatives and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Apply engineering principles and construction knowledge to support the planning, design, and execution of construction projects.
• Understand and comply with applicable engineering standards, codes, and ethical requirements.
• Develop and apply knowledge of construction engineering principles and practices, including structural analysis, support of excavation, crane planning and rigging, cofferdams, steel erection, pile driving and hammer selection, demolition, and related construction engineering topics.
• Support field operations through site visits, field investigations, constructability reviews, and resolution of engineering-related issues.
• Participate in professional organizations and continuing education opportunities to support technical and professional growth.
• Utilize engineering and drafting software to support project execution.
