Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA), Southwest Division (SWD) is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join our Concept Development Group in Albuquerque, NM.

You will design, develop, test, and analyze mechanical and thermal systems for developmental weapon programs while mentoring junior engineers and presenting designs at reviews. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, 10+ years of experience, active SECRET/TS/SCI considerations, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required; Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; 10+ years experience; strong communication and leadership.
• Proficient in CAD/drafting; able to collaborate across functions and external customers.
• Ability to produce and interpret requirements, dimensions, and production methods.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and analyze technical products and systems using engineering principles.
• Perform design evaluations and tolerance analyses for weapons systems.
• Procure, assemble, and test prototypes to inform design decisions.
• Present designs at design reviews and prepare design documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with fabrication and manufacturing.
