Base pay range

$185,000.00/yr - $225,000.00/yr

Pay range: $185-225k

Location: NYC or fully remote, with opportunities to travel for team collaboration

We are currently looking for a senior software engineer with a visual designer’s intuition. Someone who can design interfaces that they can implement and/or implement interfaces with an intuition that delights designers. Our development process is lightweight and productive, and revolves around our mutual respect for each other as well as our individual dedication to building high-quality products. You may be a fit for this position if you have a strong background in implementing precise, feature-rich, public-facing products; you have comfort with the full breadth of the software development lifecycle; you practice exceptional attention to detail to UI/UX; and you’re comfortable learning new technologies and systems.

What you’ll do

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design, develop, and document web-based front-end user interfaces from inception to deployment
• Write web-centric front-end code that you—and your fellow software engineers—are happy to maintain
• Exercise ownership and accountability over your own parts of Flexa’s software systems
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing front-end components
• Build and maintain Flexa's design system
• Participate in code and design reviews with fellow team members to improve your work as well as theirs

You should have

• A desire to continue leveraging your experience implementing user experiences that are intuitive, low-friction, and engender trust (experience within the financial, retail, or blockchain technology sectors is a plus)
• Experience building responsive user interfaces in React with precision
• Experience with meta-frameworks (Astro, Next.js, Remix, Gatsby, etc.) for rendering dynamic content with Server Side Rendering
• Experience or knowledge of common React patterns (Compound Components, Control Props, Render Props, etc.)
• Experience with working with APIs such as REST, GraphQL or gRPC.
• Knowledge of Modern CSS Techniques (Tailwind, CSS-in-JS, CSS modules)
• Experience with TypeScript
• Prototyping design explorations in code rather than a tool like Figma when appropriate
• A penchant to sweat the small details, whether it’s refining button states, animations, or typography
• Interest in using and introducing both well-established and innovative interaction patterns to help accomplish our highly-specific design goals.
