Job summary

Wenger Corporation seeks a Senior Design Engineer to lead new product development, product improvements, and cost reductions. You will drive engineering design from customer requirements through to production, coordinating with Product Management and cross-functional teams.

The role requires a BS in engineering and 5 years of experience, with SolidWorks and FEA proficiency, plus leadership and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related Engineering field.
  • Five (5) years of progressive product engineering experience.
  • Music or theater background or interest.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed customer requirements and corresponding product functional requirements with Product Manager.
  • Provide leadership to multifunctional project teams to accomplish project goals.
  • Perform engineering analysis (strength, layout, fits, tolerances) and CAD modeling as required.
  • Review code compliance of custom products used in various locations.
  • Oversee accelerated product life cycle tests and field testing.
  • Coordinate and execute with other departments product development tasks including DFMEA, DFM, prototype development, and preproduction support.
  • Provide technical writing support for manuals and instructions.
